Kwame - What happened next
Kwame lived for a few more days. The box contained a sugar harvester that he was forced to operate. Kwame's arm was caught while removing a blockage and infection set in. He died four days later.

Sugar plantations were brutal places where a slave's life expectancy was low. As well as disease and killings, there were many accidents involving machinery and tools that resulted in mutilations and sometimes death.
